MANAGEMENT

The Management team of PIC, headed by the Managing Director, consists of experts in the various lines of the company’s activities. Each of these managers is allocated a schedule of responsibilities, resourced and vested with adequate authority to perform the functions of his division/department. The Managing Director has a number of personnel directly under his control who report to him.

The Management team comprises ten (10) members as indicated below.

Patrick Kwadwo Agyekum
He is the Managing Director (MD) of the company. Mr. P. K. Agyekum holds an MBA from GIMPA Graduate School (Ghana). He is a professional Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). Mr. Agyekum has completed the Applied Insurance Studies Diploma and Advance Diploma programmes of the Malta International Training Centre in conjunction with the Ghana Insurance College. He has taken numerous courses in Financial Management, Investment, Insurance and Risk Management among other things.

Mr. Agyekum has served on the Boards of several organizations, including Leasafric Ghana Limited where he was also a member of the Board Audit Committee. He is currently a member of the Boards of TV Africa Limited and Micro and Small Business Finance and Development Foundation.
Mr. Agyekum has previous experience in the Insurance Industry in Ghana, having spent about four years at Crusader Insurance Company. He worked as an Accountant at the Prices and Incomes Board for Nine years before joining Provident Insurance Company in July 1995 as the Chief Finance Officer. He was appointed Managing Director in January, 2009.

Mrs. Joycelyn Rena Von Ballmoos
She is the Head of the General Insurance Department of the Company. She has been in the insurance field for over 26 years and has further exposure in the Insurance Industry in Britain. She is an Executive Director of the Company.


Ato Ewusie Wilson
As the Head of Legal and Administration, Mr. Ato Ewusie Wilson is responsible for the administration and all legal matters affecting the company. He holds a B.A. (Hons) Law & Classics (second class) from the University of Ghana and a Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) & Solicitor of the Superior Court of Judicature, Ghana School of Law. Mr. Wilson also doubles up as Legal Advisor and Secretary to the Board, roles he has played superbly since he joined the company in 1993. He has taken several insurance law related courses.
 

Matthew K. A. Aidoo
Matthew is a product of University of Cape Coast, where he earned a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and Diploma in Education in 1992. He also possesses Professional Certificate in Accountancy and a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).

Matthew K. A. Aidoo started his professional career with the former Great African Insurance Company Limited in 1993 as an Accounts Officer and rose through the ranks to become Chief Finance Officer (Acting) of the company. He also worked with the Social Security and National Trust (SSNIT) as an Investment Analyst in 1996. Currently, Mr. Aidoo is the Chief Finance officer of provident Insurance. Before joining P.I.C, he was the Chief Finance Officer of Ghana Life Insurance Company.
 

Daniel Quansah
He is the Head of Motor Underwriting and Claims. He assists the Executive Director in charge of (General Business). He holds a Diploma in Insurance and has taken numerous courses in Insurance. Mr. Quansah has an enviable experience in insurance, spanning over forty years. He started his carrier with SIC where he served in various capacities including Branch Manager, Chief Manager of Motor Underwriting, Motor Claims and Accident Claims Departments. He has been in Provident Insurance Company since 1997, playing similar roles, including representing PIC on the Board of ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.

Alex Seffah Kissi
Head of the Information Communication & Technology (ICT) Department of the Company. He is responsible for the administration and management of the company’s ICT infrastructure and Information Systems. Mr. Kissi holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree with specialty in Management Information Systems (MIS) from University of Ghana and Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

He has acquired the following professional qualifications; Oracle Database Administrator Professional (10g) and a Diploma in Advanced Programming (Visual Basic – VB.Net) all from NIIT (Ghana). Mr. Kissi holds a Certificate in Budgeting and Financial Management from GIMPA. He has extensive working experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Project Management. He joined the Company in February 2003.

Emmanuel Opare
Mr. Opare heads the Human Resource/Administration department. He is a barrister at law. He holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) with specialty in Human Resource Management and Bachelor of Laws all from the University of Ghana. He had also read Science Education (Chemistry Major) at the University of Cape Coast. He had worked with a number of Corporate Institutions in diverse capacities before joining P.I.C. in February, 2009.
 

Eliphaz Asiamah
Mr. Asiamah holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSC.) in Agriculture from University Of Ghana, Legon and Applied Insurance Studies Diploma awarded by Malta Int. Training Centre and Ghana Insurance College. He has over 18 years post graduate working experience in the insurance industry. He worked with United Ghana Life Insurance Company and Star Assurance Company before joining Provident Insurance in 1992. He has attended several courses in insurance and marketing and currently he is the Senior Manager in charge of the Company’s Marketing, Research and Broker Relations Department.
 

Joseph Sarfo
Deputy Manager. He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics, Statistics and Mathematics. He holds a diploma of the Chartered Institute of Insurance, UK and has taken many managerial and technical courses in insurance. Mr. Sarfo has over 18 years of insurance work experience, spending about eleven years at the Great African Insurance Company before joining Provident Insurance Company in September 1999. Mr. Sarfo is currently a Principal Officer of the Company.
 

John Kofi Asare
He heads the Re-insurance Section of the company. He is the Supervising Manager for Kumasi and Obuasi branch offices. He holds a Diploma from West African Insurance Institute (WAII). He has taken several courses in insurance. His prior insurance experience includes working with Ghana Re-insurance Company Limited for over 25 years before joining the company in April 2003.
